With this shirt, I wanted to create a quiet rebellion against the flawless, mass-produced fashion of today. Inspired by antique Japanese Boro and Sashiko stitching, I spliced classic Wagara motifs—checks, polka dots, and stripes—into irregular patchwork blocks. It reflects a mindset of mindfulness and appreciation for the lived-in, the mended, and the history behind a textile. It’s an embrace of perfect imperfection.
