Description:

Two corduroys meet at the button line: washed blue on one panel, near-black on the other, with the sleeves split between them so neither side owns the shirt. Up top, the surprise — a gray plaid flannel hood with long drawcords, like the shirt you'd knotted around your waist since the nineties, promoted to headwear. A single patch pocket keeps the chest honest; brown buttons warm the whole thing down. Roll the sleeves, knot the cords, done.

Corduroy, but fine-wale

Corduroy started life as a factory cloth — mill towns, cold mornings, velvet's cousin sent to work instead of to the opera. We cut it fine-wale, which is the only version light enough to behave like a shirt. Go wider and the cloth carries weight a short sleeve can't afford.
