Description:

Stitched, not printed.

Every white line here is a stitch. The diamond lattice — Hishi-Tsunagi, "linked diamonds" — is worked in Sashiko, the running stitch Japanese farmers once used to strengthen cloth for another season of work. Layered white thread over deep indigo cotton until the pattern stands up on its own. Cut as a Haori: open front, waist tie, patch pockets deep enough to forget your phone in. It reads like architecture, wears like a quilt.

Sashiko Lattice

Sashiko Started as Thrift: farmers stitching white thread over indigo work clothes so they'd survive one more winter. Nobody was trying to make something beautiful. They were trying to keep something.

That's the part I couldn't stop thinking about. So I took the linked diamonds — Hishi-Tsunagi, an old wish for continuity — and let every line be stitched by hand, the way it was always done. Nothing about this jacket is printed. It's just thread, patience, and cotton worth keeping.
